Nutrition is such an important part of Naturopathy.
To attain and maintain good health we need to make good
food choices and at times use nutritional supplementation. Our
bodies need a good supply of minerals, vitamins, protein, fats, carbohydrates and other micronutrients.
These nutrients rely on each other, they work synergistically.
The best source of these essential nutrients is from the food we eat.
Health tips:
- Beetroot is a fantastic blood cleanser. Grate it raw over your salads for a fantastic health boost. Watch your salad come alive with colour!
- Add cinnamon to your cooked oats in the morning. This way you will need less sugar and the cinnamon will help to stabilize your blood sugar. Kids love this!
- Have ground linseed in a glass jar in the fridge and sprinkle it over your food, just before you eat- this is incredibly good for you.
- Eat a variety of foods- this will ensure that you get a wide range of nutrients that your body needs.
- Be happy! Happiness is essential to our well-being.
- Chew your food well. This will aid the digestion process and it will allow your brain the time it needs to register when it is full.
